What should I do if the amount is deducted but the Passport Seva Portal displays the Payment Status as "Pending"?

I paid my fees for Re-issue of Passport / Renew of Passport / Fresh Passport in India. My money is deducted from my bank account but the status is still showing "Pending".

This is the main error that occurs to most of the applicants that pay and have trouble during the process.

After one or two hours of waiting, or on the next working day, use the "Track Payment Status" option on the "Applicant Home" screen to validate the payment status. Following payment confirmation, use the "Schedule Appointment" option on the "Applicant Home" screen to make an appointment.

If pending still shows on your "Track Payment Status" option.

There is an option of 're-verify' in the 'Track payment status' menu. If it's not visible in your browser (chrome), try with Internet explorer or Microsoft Edge. If you click re-verify, it updates the status. In my case, it immediately prompted the payment ‘Success’ in green color. Once the status was updated, it's now the time to schedule your appointment with date and nearby place name to fill. Schedule Appointment Options will be available.

Note: Make sure you print out every detail page, whether it’s receipt or form submitted.

Online payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at all Passport Seva Kendra/ Passport offices.
